Blacksburg Winter Morning
Photographers are strange people. Most people wake up at 7am on a day they have nothing to do and go back to bed. Photographers? We wake up at 7am, see the sun rising over a frost-covered world, and see a photo opp.
That’s what I did this morning, at least. After throwing a jacket over PJs and jamming feet into Bean boots, I grabbed my camera (Sony A7 iii with the 90mm macro) and ran out to my backyard before the light changed too much.
Maybe not as impressive as photos the 13″ of snow we got in Blacksburg a few weeks ago, but I love the way the frost coats everything. Also, I’d never photographed it in macro before. These ice crystals are wild! And they make me want to find some rock candy…
